The Periyar river has these tree trunks in its bed all along the way that it flows through the reserve. And its amazing to watch the birds fly by your boat and sit on these trunks fluttering their wings as if preparing to race us.

If you look carefully at the top left corner at the banks of the river, you'll find 2 tiny images of the Asian Elephants in their wild habitat. Thats the closest I could get to them. Actually, there was another shot of the elephants that I had taken at maximum possible focal length but that shot didn't come out well. I never realized that there were elephants in the backdrop while taking this shot else I would have zoomed in more and probably got a better shot. Bad Luck, haaa? The strange part is that I never saw the elephants in the backdrop of this shot until I uploaded it just now - speak of observation skills ;-)
