Thats some variety of the centipede, sadly thats all I know about it. Need to work on my animal kingdom knowledge :-) But its commonly found in the rubber plantations of Kerala. We used to be dreaded of this harmless creature when we were kids. On being touched with a stick, it used to curl up into an ugly roll, followed by letting out a nasty smell. But a closer look makes me realize that its a beautiful creature after all.

This pic is a great tool - it works well when I have to scare my Mom or sis :-) and when I tell them that I actually leaned down close to it get this shot (the focal length will tell you the story :D), they get all the more horrified.

Hope to catch up an everybody's work - its been long!
