Fallen

The wind, the weather - leaves on trees have mostly come down. A close look showed me how much detail a fallen leaf had to offer.

When leaves gain their freedom they often seem to take on more complex characteristics...this example of a handsome one, Thomas.

As much to offer when alive, Thomas - the rumpled edges and all the veins showing so clearly
Thomas Mathew: Yes Lisl - the dead leaves bring out so much more detail and contrast. Thanks for visiting smile
They can dry out in a matter of hours when brought inside or it is a warm day. Lots of detail here.
Thomas Mathew: Thanks for the comment Mary

One of my favorite subjects at this time of the year, Thomas! I can almost feel the brittle crunchiness of the leaf in my hand as I squeeze it.
Thomas Mathew: I can understand why these are your favorite subjects Ginnie smile
