photoblog image The mist

The mist

That is a flower of the Indian Bitter Gourd (Karela in Hindi) - I love these creepers. The mist you see in this picture is not real. Some moisture got trapped between the lens and camera mirror due to high humidity levels. I didn't realize it until I took this shot and saw it on the camera's LCD. The moisture problem was corrected by removing the lens and placing it back after some time. I liked the picture this way even though it didn't have the sharpness and details I was initially planning to capture.

Ha Ha
Sometimes accidental features become main features, don't they.
Thomas Mathew: I agree Ray - it has happened to me on more than a few occasions now smile
Taken by accident or not Thomas... it turned out to be nature's gift to turn out so well....a beautiful flower in the mist....petersmile
Thomas Mathew: I'm glad you like it Peter, thanks for visiting
It's a lovely, gentle scene - happy accidents as we call them!
Thomas Mathew: Happy accident indeed Elizabeth, glad you like it smile

So different from your usual pictures - but I can see why you were so pleased with the result.
Thomas Mathew: It is very different from what I intended to capture (close up of the flower with all details), but I liked this so much that I decided against taking the close-up shot. Thank you for stopping by Lisl smile
some fog there, almost too hazy to see
Thomas Mathew: Though this artificial fog made the flower and the creeper hazy, I still liked this even without the details. Thank you for stopping by Chantal

LOL.. what a lucky find! It worked well in this case; let's hope there is no unseen damage in the camera itself.
Thomas Mathew: It indeed was a lucky find Alan. The camera has been churning out crisp shots a month after this shot was taken - so I assume no unseen damage was done smile
Very nice photo!
Thomas Mathew: Thank you Victoria
I had a similar thing happen with moisture that I posted last week - two sunrises. The vine looks much like a cucumber vine and is probably relates.
Thomas Mathew: Sometimes it is pleasantly surprising what unexpected results we get Mary. Thank you for visiting smile
