photoblog image Tower Bridge B&W

Tower Bridge B&W

The same 3 bracketed shots used for the HDR image from the last post, processed with HDR (B&W). I waited patiently for the cruise boats and ferries on the river and the buses on the bridge to pass. I tried to avoid any noticeable movement in the frame while I took the 3 bracketed shots. My location though was not ideal for least movement - it was after a considerable wait that I got my shots.

After processing the images I realized that you can wait out the boats and buses, but you can't get the wind to stay away - a closer look at the flags atop the bridge will reveal the movement caused by the wind!

I wonder what would happen if one combined a long ND8 exposure to blur movement in water and sky, traffic etc with a series of HDR images using selective blending. Strong shot of this classic bridge.
Thomas Mathew: That actually is a nice idea John - will give it a try someday smile Thanks for stopping by.

It is a crisp shot, Thomas, and the action in the flags is appropriate.
Thomas Mathew: Thank you Ray

What patience, Thomas! It has really paid off, and those flags are fine
Thomas Mathew: Thank you kindly Lisl
Good on ya for waiting for the traffic to clear- I think it's a much stronger image for your efforts- and as for the flags - I like seeing a little motion on them!!
Thomas Mathew: Thanks Elizabeth
