Species - Oxyopes birmanicus

Got to click a few spiders when we visited my parents. The Lynx spider was my favourite because it remains still for a long time :)

This is an awesome shot.
Thomas Mathew: Thank you Mary smile
This is a superb macro shot Thomas. Very nice color.
Thomas Mathew: Thanks a lot Frances, I wasn't sure if the background was a little too bright!

It's like a cactus spider, Thomas! grin
Thomas Mathew: Thanks for stopping by Ginnie - it actually belongs to the same family as the cactus spider (Lynx Spiders)
He has very spiky legs... I like the yellow background. ... It's so hard for me to look at spider pix. I try every once in a while to nap a shot of one though like mine today.
Thomas Mathew: Thanks Jacquelyn, I can only assume that the spiky legs are used to get a better grip and/or act as a defence against predators!
