One for the road

Tried my hands on Pan photography and came no where close to the intended results! Went down to London last weekend - I actually wanted to pan a Red Bus into my frame but the results turned out to be miserable. This was the most presentable shots but here too I could not achieve the motion blurr for the background. Need to get out on the street and practice more :)

Anybody has any tips on how to master this? Please help.

An unrelated update - Got a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens and loved it. For the price, I think anyone who has a Canon DSLR should have one. Amazing results - will soon share the results as soon as I find a subject who is willing to let me post his/her portraits ;)

I've never tried panning, Thomas, so you're way ahead of me! In the meantime, you can never go wrong with these wonderful taxis!
Thomas Mathew: I've been receiving a few tips about panning from friends Ginnie. I hope to come out with a better result soon smile
