Spin a web

Took a couple of weeks off work to visit my Parents in Kerala, India. They've moved into this new house in our ancestral home town. It was a welcome break, away from the city, in the lap of nature. I didn't get to shoot much due to the almost non-stop rains. This spider stayed there on a teak tree right in front of the house and I tried various angles and settings for 3 days - this is the 3rd attempt on the 1st day. I wanted to get the web in focus but couldn't - probably needed a good macro lens or, maybe a ladder to get closer :)

wow - that's one crazy looking spider. Great capture. Certainly not like the kind of spiders I've seen.
Thomas Mathew: Thanks Jen, I'm glad you liked it.

Whoever would think a spider could be so...colorful, Thomas! It's even like it had a design painted on itself. Amazing.
Thomas Mathew: I wish I knew what kind of spider it is Ginnie. Unfortunately my knowledge of the animal kingdom is so limited smile
