photoblog image The Kirkstall Abbey

The Kirkstall Abbey

The ruins of a monastery on the banks of a river with a huge open land in front - seems like the perfect place to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon. I took this shot as soon as we reached there. In a while, this place would be steaming with people. I wonder how people who photograph landscapes and structures avoid people in their shots while taking shots at times when the light is best!

What is it about ruins, Thomas! This place looks like a haven for great photo ops! You did get just the right amount of people in this shot, though, to give it a "pastoral" feel.
Very nice place indeed !
