The Black Langur

The main resident of the tree tops in the jungle. The Langur is known as the eyes of the jungle. Each family of Langurs has a watchman who would be seated at the top most branch in the vicinity and look out for trouble in the form of carnivora. On spotting this enemy or any other danger, the watchman lets out a call of alarm to the whole herd which can be heard quite a distance across the jungle. On hearing this call, all other Langurs, specially the ones that are on the ground picking roots, climb up to the highest branch possible. Other animals like the Sambhar, Spotted Deer etc. too rely on this warning call to run and save themselves from being a meal to the hungry enemy.

As with the call in the jungle, it's clear these creatures look out for and take care of each other, Thomas. I am always tickled by how they groom each other. smile
Thomas Mathew: You are right Ginnie. It is a mutually dependant society out there in the jungle.
Nice capture.
Thomas Mathew: Thanx smile
I wish he was looking at you.
