photoblog image Standing Tall

Standing Tall

Silhoutte of the minar. Its not easy to get the whole structure in the frame since there are other structures in the vicinity that won't let you get a full unobstructed shot. I ended up lying down on the ground, placing the camera in all wierd angles to get as much of the minar I could :-)

One way I've found helpful is to take 2-3 shots in panorama style and stitch them together to get the entire length of something this big and magnificent. Saves the clothes from getting dirty smile I have one of a statue which I should be posting up in the future. Just a suggestion to avoid buying Tide grin But a lovely shot Thomas. Silhouettes and colourful skies are the best combinations
Thomas Mathew: Thanx for the suggestion Mia - I think I'll try a panorama shot soon. But you know, the thrill of getting the clothes dirty and taking a shot under extremes where others think its impossible to get the subject into the frame, is whats exciting grin

I have that stitching capability with my camera as well, Thomas, but I've never used it. I always forget. In the meantime, congratulations for getting down and dirty to take this shot. It's perfect! With no bowing of the tower!!! smile

As a silhouette, BTW, this looks like a lighthouse! It really does stand tall.
Thomas Mathew: Thanx Ginnie. Hope you'll post something with the panorama thingy, soon. In the meanwhile I'll get down n dirty for my shots grin

That's a magnificent silhouette, and very well worth the effort put into getting it to look like this. I like it a lot
Thomas Mathew: Thanx Ellie. I'm glad u liked it smile
