photoblog image My Rich Lineage

My Rich Lineage

An artisan carving patterns on an otherwise simple steel plate. I was simply amazed by the perfection he achieved with a simple chisel & hammer. There was hardly anything wrong about the output that I could figure out. He says its an art he has inherited from his forefathers and it has been running in the family for generations. Though every generation tries to bring in innovations but the basic rules of the game remain intact. This guy is an expert on all kinds of metals. He had a lot of stuff like bangles of black metal with silver filled carvings. Next I'll post a shot of his other works.

Wonderful, both the picture and the information.

People with skills like this never cease to amaze me, I have always believed that artistic ability is inherited, not acquired during a lifetime.

I look forward to seeing other pictures of these crafts smile
Thomas Mathew: Thanx Ellie. I hope you find the rest of the series as interesting smile
